
Projects
As a composer and vocalist as well as a theatre-maker, Martha brings a unique take on her projects. From puppetry to theatre, she strives to create projects that are both entertaining and thought provoking.

30-minute, fully-staged children's opera based on the poem by Christina Rossetti. This work was premiered at Blackheath Halls in June 2023.
The work featured props, costume and set as well as musicians, dancers and actors. Martha composed and directed the work as well as performing in it.

Written and performed as part of ALP's new musical theatre writing showcase 'Catastrophe'.
Currently in development as a full-length musical.

Choral work commissioned by the Trinity Laban Undergraduate Chorus. This work utilised body percussion on a large scale. It was premiered in Blackheath Halls by the chorus in November 2022.

Work for dancers, trombone, electronics and marionettes. Premiered at the Trinity Laban Rude Health Festival 2022.

Short film interweaving different ghostly stories. Directed by Martha Clayton and filmed by Arwel Rees-Kay. Filmed around the Isle of Dogs 2021.

This 2022 chamber orchestra piece was played by the Trinity Laban Chamber Orchestra. It explores themes of Jewish identity utlising freshly composed and traditional klezmer tunes.

Selected as a finalist for the Daryl Runswick Prize 2021 which was judged by Stephen Fry. This was played by the Trinity Laban Chamber Group.

A shadow puppet show featuring circus-inspired music. Telling the story of the infamous elephant Jumbo. 2020.
